Our college is recognized by U.G.C and affiliated to Kazi Nazrul University. Bidhan Chandra College (Government Sponsored), Asansol, District- Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal is a co-educational institute established in the year 1961. Department of Philosophy had also started from the same year. From the inception of this college our department started with pass courses.
Honours courses started from the year 2009. In pass courses there were so many dignified faculty and the student passed out from our department during that period were established in the different fields of our society. Till now the department runs with a much glorifying nature and the students who are passing out at present days are also absorbed in various flourishing fields apart from educational fields. Our teacher- students relationship is the most remarkable thing. We teachers always try to do our best for the students from all respect and that’s why they are fully dependent upon all the teachers for all their works that they do. We try to give them something different rather than only text books. Our department had put a mark in academia by way of imparting knowledge, developing skills, among students for making them competent as per needs of the society. At last our aim is to
make the student a good human being rather making them having only a literate personality. So our vision is to work hard and act selflessly.
